Old-Fashioned Baked Custard |
1 cup milk (cold or room temperature) 1 teaspoon sugar Nutmeg
Grease four custard cups and place in a 9" x 9" x 2" pyrex dish and set aside. Beat eggs well with an electric mixer. Add milk and sugar and continue beating for one minute. Let the mixture rest until bubbles die down, then pour into prepared cups and sprinkle generously with ground nutmeg.
Serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy in the cup or you can loosen the custard with a spatula, remove from cup and serve with fruit or applesauce (nutmeg side up). |
