Seedlings: Each of these seedlings are being considered for introduction. All photos were taken this summer. The first, a misted lavender, stands 35" tall with 7.5" blooms and bud counts in the 20s. The raspberry red with watermark blew me away this year for its third year of bloom. It started blooming in the early season and is currently reblooming with 8.5" flowers on 33" scapes. The red almost spider is also currently reblooming with 9" flowers. I clearly love the raspberry red coloration as the fourth picture is of a seedling that bloomed for the first time this summer as an 18 month old with impressive stats - 7" flowers, 36" scape, 5 branches, and 24 buds, plus rebloom. The last orange seedling was almost thrown away last year following its very first bloom season. I'm so glad I found just one more spot for it to grow in the evaluation beds as this year it produced 6.5" flowers on 36" scapes with 4 branches and 24 buds. I'm so glad it didn't go to compost! Seedlings: I have attached two seedlings that I have selected for further consideration in the last couple of days. Seedling 167 is a cross of ADA E. HILL with one of my seedlings. It is tall (43") has nice braching and 21 buds. I hope Seedling 168 becomes more that just another low bud count pretty face when it is moved out of a crowded seedling bed. The parents are TRULY ANGELIC and BETA ANGELIC PASSION, both of which have excellent plant habit, so there is hope. arrow down

Daylilies Two older memorable daylilies I felt were very distinctive. Both were from Roycroft Daylilies in coastal South Carolina many years ago. That business was bought out but still sells a lot of their daylilies. The new name is Hemingway Nursery Featuring Roycroft Daylilies. Back when I ordered from them there were 2 partners, Bob Roycroft and Wyatt Lefever. The two photos are both Wyatt's introductions(his intros all began with "Forsyth"). The first one is 'Forsyth Frostbound' (intro 1994) a gorgeous pink and white and the second one is 'Forsyth Paleface' (intro 1997) a very striking red and white. Even though they came from the semi tropical area on the coast of South Carolina, they both did very well in my zone 6 garden. I looked at the sale page of the new business and while they do offer several from Wyatt these two are no longer listed. Their business moved from Georgetown SC to Hemingway SC – further inland and about half an hour away. arrow down

Daylily 'Lyric'. Many times when I post a photo I will relate the name of the daylily to lyrics of a song. A friend, Andrew took notice and gifted me this daylily at the Region 2 Summer Conference. Daylily Folks are the Best. (Barry's Facebook is: 1000 Islands Daylily Friends) arrow down

Daylily 'Kitty Grandma' (Fehr 2025). This new registration I named for Greg's late wife has just started blooming. A true late season flower. This is 'Kitty Grandma'. That was part of Diane's email address and how she was referred to by her grandkids. She was the grandma with all the cats on the farm (all of which were drop offs; she'd see a car stop at the bottom of the hill, a door would open and close, and a few days later a new cat appeared in the barn.) arrow down

Daylily I also have a Pixel 8a and LOVE IT! I can't even remember where I put my Canon! One of my favorite oldies is Harry Bishop's ITSY BITSY SPIDER (right). He sent me a piece decades ago and I absolutely love it. Also attached (left) is a pic I recently took - with my Pixel - of Margo Reed's RASPBERRY FAIRY. I love my Pixel! Stay cool! arrow down

DayliliesVery excited about my new Google Pixel 8a and didn't break the bank either. It was a refurbished cell. Below is another photo of 'Enchanted Princess' and below that is 'Darkmoor Park' and 'Lady Alice'. Oh I could have posted a lot more but doesn't feel right as this space on Garden Photographs is for you all. My photos will eventually get on my website. arrow down

Daylily: 'Choo-Choo Symphony' by my Mentor, the late, great Lee Pickles is blooming again today. It started in May and will bloom into August. Took two iPhone photos, one in regular mode and the other in Portrait. Not sure which I prefer. Showing a feature on new phones. arrow down

Daylilies: I am sending as an attachment the photo of Terah George's DOUBLE BLUE BLOOD taken with my I-phone in full sun about 9:30 a.m. yesterday. The trio of blooms were open on a single rebloom scape. I took it as there were no clouds available, but I thought the photo would show the blooms in both sun and shadow. I do normally hope for a cloud, as the softer light generally makes a better photo. arrow down

Garden: Few of my favorites. First photo is 'Enchanted Princess' (Culver) - great tall with eye catching color and lots of blooms. Second is Heliopsis Loraine Sunshine - love it as foliage is so pretty. Third is 'Eyepod' (Culver) - looks wonderful year after year. Beside Rosy Glow Barberry the colors marry perfectly. Hydrangea in rear just starting to bloom and my Veronicastum should be supported! arrow down

Garden: Paul sent in a few photos of his beautiful AHS Display Garden in full bloom to share. Yes… that is a banana tree growing outdoors… 5 years … no it does not go in my greenhouse… by mid Sept it is 12-14' high. With about 1100 daylilies you'd think they'd be the attraction…nope! arrow down

Daylilies: Below are four of my 2025 Seedlings. Ed Zahler's SPLENDIPEROUS IN PINK is the pod parent of three pink seedlings below. It lends its extra heavy substance to all as they remain fully open in the evenings. arrow down
This is a 2024 Seedling (South Sea Enchantment x Rosy Raves 1-24) May 16, 2025

Below: First is (Splendiperous in Pink x Scintillation in Pink 1-24) June 10 and perhaps the most beautiful of the lot. It has 6" blooms. Next two (Splediperous in Pink x South Sea Enchantment 4-24) June 5 and (Splendiperous in Pink x South Sea Enchantment 4-24) June 4 - lighter of the two. Both have 7" blooms.

Itoh Peony: 'Bartzella'. I have grown Itoh peony 'Bartzella' for years and highly recommend it. It slowly gets bigger each year, and here it never flops. (Mary's Website is: https://marybakersgarden.blogspot.com) arrow down
